Venting by the sea
Here I am at Camp Franzini in San Rafael. It is beautiful Bay Area fall weather, lot's of sun and crisp sea air. Perfect for cleansing the mind, body and soul while doing work on the vessel.

I had the chance to meet up with a friend and check out The Shotgun Wedding Quintet last weekend in San Fran. I've seen them a couple of times up in Tahoe where they play the local Jazz bar in Truckee(Moody's). It was great to see them on their home turf. They brought in some HipHoppers from San Jose to start the night off. Great to hear some youngsters rappin and scratchin' wax. Shotgun had their usual off beat Jazz fusion freestylin' but they twisted a didjeridoo in on one song and had plenty of fresh lyrics rolling through the house. They definitely weren't playing the typical repertoire they bring to Tahoe. It was awesome to see a different side of their musical experimentation. We split early so I didn't get to see their second set. I headed across town to see Steve Lawler who was spinning records at Ruby Skye. Small crowds=lot's of wiggle room! Great beats and awesome venue.

A few more meetings here in the Bay and then back 2 Tahoe to pack for EHX and then onto Vegoose and SEMA in Vegas.
